“It’s amazing!” Avenir received an enthusiastic response from the public

Avenir is an environmental awareness campaign which is aimed to raise public awareness on environment.

Kampar, July 9 - The Built Environment Society (BES) of Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman has received a great and enthusiastic response from the public when the event, “Avenir” was carried out on 8th and 9th of July at Grand Kampar Sports Complex.

“It’s definitely a meaningful event for me, there are several workshop and activities was held to tell us about the current environment issue that happened in our society nowadays,” said by a Finance student, Mun Yee.

“It’s a great event for us to spend our weekend; it has food bazaar, Fun Park and many great shows to be perform in these two days,” said Jun, a public relation student.

Students and Kampar citizens felt satisfaction on the event, as there are lots of activities such as food bazaar, stimulation tent, mud ball workshop, enzyme making show, colouring competition was being carried out in the event and these activities had enrich their weekends.

Avenir has attracted many Kampar citizens and students from Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman to visit and enjoy all the activities that organized throughout the event especially the food bazaar which contains 50 stalls at the Grand Kampar Sport Complex.

“Je ne vois pas I’ avenir” means “I can’t see the future” in French, this event is an environmental awareness campaign which is aimed to raise public awareness on environment and the use of effective microorganism mud ball in purifying the lake.

Low Kok Hou, vice chairperson of Avenir says, “Our event aimed to educate public about the importance of water and environment; the organising team even conducted a mud ball workshop in order to educate the public about the advantages of mud ball in purifying water stream.”

“Besides, we also organized a stimulation tent which contains video with real environmental pollution effect to let the public experience the pollution that happened in our life,” said Lau.

Lau says, “Avenir is a meaningful event, we hope to raise the environment awareness among the public; good comments are meaningful to us as it shows that we had transfer a good message to the public, we feel appreciated.”
