Professional Singer all the way from India, Haricharan performing live on stage of Dhiiraati Nakshatra Night 5.0

Kampar, August 5 – Dhiiraati Nakshatra Night 5.0, mega event was a huge success as claimed by most audience attended. “Throughout my three years of experience attending cultural events in UTAR this is the most grand,” said Ram Mahan, 22, Banking and Finance student. This year, the committee took an extra step to invite professional and famous singer from India, Haricharan to perform live on stage in front of over 1200 audiences consist mostly UTAR students, Kamparians and guest from other states.

“This event was a great platform for me to showcase my talent, after all, how many of us are lucky enough to perform in front of professional celebrities,” said Viknen Raj, Psychology student who performed in stage. The event was honored by the chief guest Datuk Rajaravi, Raja Holdings manager who was also one of the biggest sponsor for this event.

Lucky draws worth of RM2000 were given to 10 lucky winners and best achievement award was given to 3 students who performed both academically and in sports throughout this year. “It is indeed encouraging to be recognized for all the hard work and dedicating of our fellow students,” said Joshua Naidu, one of the best student award winner.

The event lasted for about 5 hours starting at 7.30pm till 11.30pm where in the end open dance floor was held and all the audience got the chance to dance with utmost joy. UTAR lecturer Miss Aruna was one of the important guest to the show was delighted with all the performances and dedication done by the committee. “This is indeed the best committee and their hard work has proven success through this event,” claimed Miss Aruna, FAS lecturer.

As promised, the committee will be donating a total sum of RM2500 to 3 selected needy families in Kampar as a social service gesture. “This sort of event should be done every year as a cultural symbol and to celebrate our varsity of cultures in Malaysia,” mentioned Sanjeev, UTAR, Indian Cultural Society president.
