Kampar, July 21 – It has been half way through the May trimester and students are being stressed up with assignments due dates and presentations already. Findings showed that the first-year students had a low stress level but when it comes to academic achievement they are having hard time to adapt to the education system in university. It was also found that there is a significant relationship between undergraduate students stress level and their academic achievement.
According to Shasvin, Psychology course Year 1 Semester 1, said that to complete one semester with fourteen weeks schedule which includes tutorials, lectures, presentations, assignments and examination is not an easy task. Lack of time and time rush lead the students into a stressful condition with no extra or additional break for their studies on examinations. This leads them to depression, anxiety and stress which are fairly common.

In order to meet assignment deadlines and to keep up with the schedules related to the university, students must engage their time-based ordering abilities. These skills help us interpret, retain or create information that is in a serial order. Students with strong time-based ordering skills are able to manage their schedule, organize their work and utilize their time efficiently. Students with weak time management skills, procrastination can have painful consequences affecting both academic and personal success.

“There are a few solutions to this issue and one of it is that UTAR has to change the educational system. They could change the way the schedule works by getting all the assignments and presentation done with the tenth week and focus on examination to the end of the semester,” said Dass, Banking and Finance course, Year 2 Semester 3.
In brief, both the educational organization and the students can take necessary steps to lead a great fourteen weeks of a semester in a way where both parties meet their target without fail. This mutually related issue could be handled with ease by their maximum cooperation.
