KLANG: The mother of a murdered security guard at a poultry factory, here had went to the premises in Kampung Kuantan on Tuesday to check on her son and send him some lunch.
Wan Noor Hafidah Abu Hassan, 53, however, was only met with silence when she arrived there in the afternoon.
Her son Syed Mohd Fazrul Syed Mohd Ridhuan, 23, and her youngest brother Wan Amir Hamzah, 48, who also stayed in the factory, were nowhere to be seen.
She, however, did not suspect anything amiss, thinking that her son and brother had gone out as Fazrul's Proton Satria Neo was not parked in front of the factory.
Little did she know that the bodies of her beloved ones were lying in a pool of blood inside a room there, murdered by a person whom police believed was their friend.
Fazrul's father Syed Mohd Ridhuan Syed Agil, 55, when met outside the Klang Utara police headquarters here last night, said his wife went to the factory after calls and text messages to Fazrul and Wan Amir went unanswered.
"My wife had been trying to ring them as she wanted to send some food, but neither answered their phones.
"She then texted our son, asking him 'Zul mana, Ummi nak datang hantar makanan ni'.
(Where are you, I want to send you some food)
"When Fazrul still did not reply, she went ahead with her plan, but returned a while later as the factory was closed when she arrived," he said.
He said Wan Amir, who had health issues, had been staying under the care of Fazrul over the last few years.
Ridhuan said they only learnt about the incident from the police about 4pm yesterday, three hours after the victims' bodies were discovered by their employer.
He said two of Fazrul's siblings had gone to the scene after being informed of the tragedy. However, they were not allowed to go inside the factory and were instead told to go to the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital.
Speaking about Fazrul, Ridhuan said his son, the third of five siblings, was a man of few words but had a kind heart.
He said his son was a person who was always ready to help his friends when they were in need.
Ridhuan said Fazrul's kindness, however, could have also led to his death as the main suspect in the double murder case was Fazrul's friend, whom he recently took under his wing.
He said their family learnt that the suspect, who is now being hunted by police, was taken in by Fazrul several months ago as his assistant at the factory.
"My son had taken the trouble to share some of his pay as a security guard as the suspect was jobless.
"I only met him once when Fazrul took him to our house in Kampung Rantau Panjang (in Klang) during Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
"But now, after all Fazrul did for him, how could he do this to my son and my brother-in-law."
Ridhuan said his family had also advised Fazrul against being close to the suspect, especially when their eldest son learnt from their friends that the suspect was involved with drugs.
However, he added, they believed that Fazrul had continued to assist the suspect because of his kind nature.
Several of Fazrul's friends also shared the same sentiment.
They said Fazrul had helped the suspect several years ago, before they separated ways when the suspect did some wrong to the victim.
"However, when he (the suspect) returned several months ago asking for help, as he did not have anyone else to go to, Fazrul took him in once again.
"But that was just Fazrul. He was a nice person who could just forget and forgive."
Fazrul's friends hoped that police would find the suspect and bring him to justice.
Yesterday, the factory owner made a gruesome discovery when he went to check on his employees about 1pm, finding their lifeless remains instead.
Initial investigation revealed that the victims had multiple slash wounds on their bodies.
